Connect Thumbtack to Clasp

Authorize a Thumbtack account, connect new-lead delivery for each business, and register the phone numbers associates use to call Thumbtack leads.

Updated October 23, 2026

Availability

The connection is available to authorized staging reviewers. Customer production access will be enabled after Thumbtack approves Clasp for production credentials. Manual webhook credentials remain separate from the partner connection.

Before you connect

Set up lead delivery

  1. In Clasp, open Settings → Integrations → Thumbtack for Pros.
  2. Select Connect Thumbtack, sign in to Thumbtack, and approve the requested access. Clasp cannot see your Thumbtack password.
  3. Back in Clasp, select Load businesses and phones.
  4. For every business that should send leads, select Connect new leads. Clasp creates and enables that business's NegotiationCreatedV4 webhook only after Thumbtack confirms it.
  5. Add each associate's outbound calling number under Business calling numbers. You can update or remove those numbers later from the same screen.
  6. Check the confirmation box and select Send test lead. Confirm that the synthetic request appears in Clasp and that its delivery receipt is successful.

What data is synchronized

After a business is connected, Thumbtack sends new lead events to a business-specific Clasp receiver. Clasp creates or matches the related customer and service request, retains the source project details, and records the delivery result so an administrator can review or retry a saved failed import.

The connection does not backfill historical leads. It does not import Thumbtack messages or reviews, schedule a technician automatically, or automatically call or message a customer. A saved retry can reprocess a delivery that reached Clasp; it cannot recreate an event that Thumbtack never delivered.

Why business phone numbers are required

Clasp registers associate phone numbers with the selected Thumbtack business through Thumbtack's business phone number API. Thumbtack uses these registrations for lead communications and caller-ID behavior. Register the number the associate actually uses to place calls. Do not register a Clasp texting-only number unless that person also uses it for outbound calls.

Permissions and security

Clasp requests access to list the authorized account's businesses, read and manage their webhooks, read and manage associate phone numbers, keep the connection active, and disconnect the integration. Provider tokens are encrypted and bound to the Clasp workspace and deployment environment. Webhook passwords are generated per business and stored only as fingerprints in Clasp.

See the Clasp privacy policy for product data-handling information.

Disconnect Thumbtack

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Thumbtack for Pros.
  2. Check the disconnect confirmation and select Disconnect Thumbtack.
  3. Clasp disables its Thumbtack lead receivers before requesting provider revocation. Thumbtack then deactivates the integration and its webhooks.

Existing customers, requests, and delivery receipts remain in Clasp. If provider revocation cannot be confirmed, lead intake stays disabled and the screen asks an administrator to retry the revocation.

Troubleshooting and support

Email team@clasp.pro with the workspace name, affected business, approximate time, and visible error. Do not send passwords, authorization codes, access tokens, or customer details.
